Email a picture with a short description to chloe@ashdown.co.uk Please add 'Readers' Challenge' or 'Readers' Gallery' in the subject line. Pictures need to be a high resolution, large, sharp and clear. If you are unsure about taking the photos you can send the item to us, making sure you include your full contact details and a SAE and we will photograph them for you. They will be returned once the magazine has been published.

You will be sent a surprise goody bag of beads for you to craft into your own design. Alongside this you will be sent a questionnaire to complete. You will be given a deadline and all this will need to be returned to Bead before a deadline.
We love to have projects from new designers! If you have an item which you think Bead readers would enjoy then email us with a picture and some brief details to chloe@ashdown.co.uk If your submission is successful you will be emailed a comprehensive template to help you write your project. You will also be expected to provide either step by step photographs or diagrams, whichever is most relevant. This will be confirmed at the time.
All projects and articles must be your own work. If they're influenced or based on anything else, you must let us know in the submission.
All projects and articles must be original. They must not have been, nor planned to be, published elsewhere. If this is not the case please enclose full details with your submission.
Payment is based on a number of factors; complexity of project or article, how much in-house work is done by Bead, combined with number of pages within the magazine, and is decided by the Editor.
Bead Magazine reserve the right to reject work at any stage if the content or quality is not as expected or agreed or if any work does not arrive by the agreed deadline.
All material submitted to the magazine is accepted on the basis that copyright of will be vested in the Publisher who assumes all rights worldwide, in all forms and media. This means Bead owns the rights to the instructions and photographs that we publish. The work may be published in the magazine, our i-Mag, e-books, CDs and bookazines as well as on Bead.TV. You continue to own the copyright for the design and are free to teach and sell your work. All that we ask is that you wait a minimum of 6 months after the publication of the issue before teaching the design or selling your own instructions.
Whilst great care is taken with submitted pieces, the publisher can accept no responsibility for loss or damage to contributions. Material is accepted solely on the basis that the author accepts the assessment of the Publisher as to its commercial value. It is recommended that any jewellery sent to Ashdown in the post is sent via signed for or guaranteed.

We welcome suggestions for people or groups you feel should be included, you are also able to suggest yourself.
Please bear in mind that to help us decide if we should profile someone, the first thing we need to know is why he or she would be of interest to our readers. You need to ensure you give us some idea of why you are suggesting yourself or someone else for a profile.
We welcome articles on a wide range of subjects concerning beading and jewellery making. Please bear in mind however that we are a UK based magazine that concentrates on beading, wirework and jewellery making. Any submissions concerning articles should include a detailed outline of your idea as well as an example of your writing (this does not need to be the actual article). You will be expected to provide photographs to accompany your article.
